Disciplinary Policy


The League shall operate a Disciplinary Policy in accordance with the current Disciplinary Rules operated within the jurisdiction of the England and Wales Cricket Board and the Yorkshire Cricket Association.

 

The ECB “Code of Conduct and Spirit of Cricket” statement and the Yorkshire Cricket Board Policy Statement “Anti-Racism and Race Equality” shall operate throughout the League.

 

These rules shall apply to all League, Cup, Representative and Indoor matches played under the auspices of the Readers Scarborough Beckett Cricket League and the Andy Hire Scarborough and District Evening Cricket League.

 

All issues reported (along with a £10 complaint fee) about clubs, or players, will be dealt with by the League’s Management Committee and players may be banned from all cricket, in all Leagues, by that Committee, should the complaint be found proven. (Written accounts of alleged misconduct is mandatory but the option of a 5 minute personal hearing will be available plus Committee led question and answer time. A player suspended by the League Management Committee shall be deemed to be ineligible for all League and Cup games throughout the period of such suspension and any team, within the three Leagues, playing a suspended player shall forfeit the match, regardless of the result.

 

APPEALS PROCEDURE

 

An independent Body consisting of a Chairman, Secretary and two other representatives (all independent of the Readers Scarborough Beckett Cricket League) shall be brought together to form an Appeals Panel. No member of the Panel shall have been involved in either the investigation or Disciplinary Hearing or be connected, in any way with the reported club or player.

 

To set up an appeal against a decision made at a Disciplinary Hearing of the League, a letter has to be sent to the Secretary of the Readers Scarborough Beckett Cricket League who will pass it on to an independent Secretary of such an Appeal Panel. Enclosed with such an appeals letter should be a sum of £50 in respect of each and every appeal. The sum will be forfeited in the event of the Appeals Panel rejecting such an appeal. Any appeal must be in writing within 7 days of the decision of the Disciplinary Hearing along with the £50 fee. In the event of the appeal being upheld by the Appeals Panel then the £50 fee will be returned to the club

 

NON-COMPLIENCE STANDARD FINES

 

Clubs will be liable to the following fines in the event of non-compliance.

 

£50.00

Any club resigning from the League after the 30th November prior to the forthcoming season.

 

£20.00

Any club reported to the League for not being ready to start at the official starting time.

Any home club failing to submit match results via the results centre before 9pm on the evening of the match.

Any club not attending the Annual General Meeting.

Any club not attending the pre-season “Ball Collection / “Cup Return” meeting without league agreement.

Any club failing to produce evidence of Public Liability before the “Ball Collection / Cup Return” meeting.

Any home club failing to re-mark popping creases between innings

 

£10.00

Any club not replying to the League’s request for their cricket ball order by the due date.

Any club not paying its cricket ball invoice by the due date.

Any club failing to submit Ground Markings within 4 working days of the match.

Any club failing to submit Umpire Markings within 4 working days of the match.

 

Any fine imposed by the League Committee, not paid within 28 days, will automatically be doubled.
